David Holehouse apprenticed as a reporter on a daily newspaper before moving to the Canadian province of Alberta, where he initiated and managed several weekly papers for Ootes Press Ltd. He later joined The Edmonton Journal in the provincial capital as an editor and writer, before going on to operate his own company for 20 years, editing and publishing magazines for the private and public forestry sectors in Western Canada. His final professional calling was as a communications manager with the City of Edmonton, Alberta's capital city.
He was a contributing author on Umingmak: Stuart Hodgson and the Birth of the Modern Arctic, by Jake Ootes and published by Tidewater Press in 2020.
David’s passions include the mystery and beauty of our world, family and friends, philosophical discussion, playing bass in a dance band, motorcycle trips and creating sawdust in his woodwork shop.
