I really enjoyed your novel and look forward to sharing it with friends and family. I took the book with me on vacation where I could thoroughly immerse myself in the story. I appreciated the historical context and the many things I learned along the way. I felt I really got to know the characters. There was enough suspense and detail, without being "too much." I appreciated the time that the author took to research, publish and share this story.
That is a great novel. I thoroughly enjoyed the characters. Broke out in laughter when ….. (no spoiler alert!) The research at the end of the book was helpful and greatly appreciated. Your writing reminds me of another great writer, C.J. Sansom. Engaging and wanting to read on. Keep me posted when you finish your next book.
I am not an avid reader of books, but when I find one that 'grips' my imagination and is well written, then I have a hard time putting it down. This account (fiction or not) of the "Wise Men" is truly a masterful vision of what could have been the travels and experiences at that time. Well done indeed!! Once the journey began, I was truly hooked and pondered on every experience they had. As I got into the last chapter or two, I felt a very strong sense of God encouraging me to open my heart and my mind to the reality of how blessed we all are that Christ came to us in such a wonderful way. The last chapter was read through a continuous flow of tears that just welled up.
Thank you for being "you" and the wonderful gifts you share with us.
I enjoyed your book. Such a lot of research, yet totally readable and enjoyable. I do recall when the Three Kings were a bit of a worry in churches, as they lingered on the verge of being astrologers (re their star gazing!) and were not very welcome at that time, so you have brought a beautiful part of the Christmas story into full vogue, incorporating so much research. Looking forward to your next book!?
Into the Depth of Heaven is a most delightful and interesting read. You have early suspense and lots of very interesting detailed description, without being at all heavy. I am blown away by the research you have done for this and the way you have presented it. I am only half way through the book and am enjoying it immensely. It is a book that I will surely read again because there is so much more to it than I can grasp in one reading. Great Job!
You have written a wonderful story. Any individual, religious or not, would be enlightened by the characters, places and this journey of two thousand years ago. Creative prose and good story telling.
Finished reading your book and must say I’ve been very interested in the story of the people and events leading up to The Manger. I’m ‘exhausted’ by the journey I’ve been on, reading the story, and the wealth of information you’ve provided. Thank you for sharing. You’ve done an incredible work of research and I wish you well.
I started it and I love it already. The level of research is obvious. And the writing is great. Honoured to have my signed copy…… (Later) I have now read this! I couldn't put it down after 2nd pickup (and rereading what I'd already read the week before). Breathtaking.
I loved the idea of the book and found myself on the journey with Rimsin, and wondered what would I be feeling at certain moments in the book. There is so much history in the book, sometimes I was just getting into the tale when I felt distracted by all the factual information. For me, it sometimes felt like reading an encyclopedia - I certainly learned a lot.
